In 2010 roughly CZK 60 bln was invested into research and development in the Czech Republic; this corresponds to 1.6 % of GDP. This is the highest value since 1993. According to the Czech Statistics Office (CSÚ) the main source of financing was the business sector which provided CZK 28.9 bln in financing for science. A total of CZK 9.5 bln was invested in the development of the automobile industry.
